The “Image Image:Who Am I” project is an experimental media concept that utilizes photography, video and willing subjects to bring attention to an age-old issue: stereotypes.
It is human nature to make assumptions by judging people based upon their gender, race and appearance. Our perception is often influenced by our culture, upbringing, religion, ethnicity and gender.
How someone appears to us skews our judgment. When we make assumptions, those thoughts eventually develop into stereotypes. The goal of this project is to engage you, the viewer, to look, and think about how we draw conclusions about others — perhaps considering a new way of seeing.
